Junk Removal St. Louis
Junk Removal in St. Louis
St. Louis is a brick town. Carondelet’s houses went up between 1880 and 1930, Soulard’s rowhouses are older still, and nearly all of them sit on a basement that has been collecting furniture, freezers and boxes for generations. Send a photo, get one flat price, and a crew carries it up the stairs and out to the alley: a sofa is $126, a refrigerator $164.
We cover all 79 City neighborhoods, every corner of St. Louis County from Florissant to Oakville, and the Illinois side of the river from Alton down to Columbia.

What JunkRabbit Customers Say
JunkRabbit is new to St. Louis, so there are no St. Louis reviews yet. What you see here are real Google reviews left by Miami customers.
“Good communication, very responsive and easy to schedule on a short notice. Showed up on time and the haulers were in and out quickly and efficiently. Thanks!”
“Had a plan AND morning confirmation with [another junk remover] and they canceled last minute, an hour before. I was in a bind, and I called & texted the folks at JunkRabbit. They were fast, courteous and available on short notice.”

Big Jobs Go by the Truckload
For a full basement, a garage or a whole flat, paying by volume usually makes more sense. The truck holds sixteen cubic yards; a quarter of it is $241, half is $431 and all of it is $732. We price each job both ways and bill whichever comes out lower.

Get My St. Louis QuoteHow a St. Louis Pickup Works
1. Photograph the pile
A single armchair or a whole cellar of storage — every piece is identified and matched to the St. Louis price list.
2. Choose your window
Fix anything the picture missed, then pick a time this week rather than waiting for your block’s bulky week.
3. Hauled and sorted
An insured local crew carries everything out, then routes it to donation, a recycler or licensed disposal.
JunkRabbit Services Around St. Louis
Each service page has its own St. Louis prices, the local pickup rules that apply and answers to common questions:
Made for St. Louis Buildings
A Dutchtown brick flat, a Washington Avenue loft, a Florissant ranch and a Chesterfield subdivision house each call for a different plan, and our crews handle all four.
Brick Flats and Deep Basements
Two- and four-family buildings with a tight interior stair and a cellar underneath. Carrying things up those steps is the job we do most here.
There’s no surcharge for it. St. Louis Hills basements →
The Alley Out Back
City trash lives in alley dumpsters, so most City pickups load from the alley behind the house instead of the street in front.
Lofts and Towers
Washington Avenue warehouses and Central West End high-rises come with freight elevators, loading docks and sometimes an insurance certificate.
What Can’t Be Landfilled
Missouri keeps major appliances and whole tires out of its landfills, and Illinois does the same with TVs and computers. We route them to recyclers.
City Bulky Pickup vs. Hiring a Hauler
If you live inside the City of St. Louis, the Refuse Division spells out exactly what its bulky collection will take. It’s worth a look before you book anybody.
Once a Month
Bulky items go out during your area’s designated collection week — by 6:00 a.m. on that Monday, in the alley if you have one, at the curb if you don’t.
Three Items at Most
Each pickup takes up to three items, and no single piece may weigh more than 100 pounds, run longer than six feet or measure over two feet across.
Doors Off the Fridge
Refrigerators are accepted only with the doors removed, and railroad ties aren’t taken at all. Batteries, oil, appliances, tires and electronics have their own monthly collection.
Drive It Yourself
City residents can also unload at the North or South Transfer Station on weekdays — up to twelve loads a year, each no bigger than a half-ton pickup bed.
None of that applies outside the City line. St. Louis County towns and unincorporated trash districts each set their own rules, and so does every town on the Illinois side, so check with your own city or hauler. If the pile is small, light, already outside and can wait for your week, the City program may be the cheaper route. If it’s a sectional, a piano, a basement or anything over three pieces, that’s where we come in.
A Typical St. Louis Week
Hot summers and cold winters send a lot of living into the basement, and spring storms and lease cycles bring it back out. These jobs fill our calendar.
What We Haul Most
- Whole-basement cleanouts
- Upper-flat and four-family move-outs
- Storm and tornado debris
- Rehab debris from old brick houses
- Estate and downsizing work
- SLU, WashU and SIUE move-outs
Sorted Before Disposal
Good furniture goes to donation. Refrigerators and freezers go to refrigerant recovery, and the metal to a scrap recycler, since Missouri has banned major appliances from landfills starting in 1991.
Sorting is included.
Both Sides of the River
Belleville, O’Fallon, Edwardsville, Granite City and Alton get the same flat prices as South City. Illinois bans TVs and computers from household trash, so those are always recycled.
Why St. Louis Chooses JunkRabbit
A Number Up Front
Your price comes from the photo, not from somebody sizing up the pile in your driveway and making up a figure.
Stairs Are Our Job
Cellar steps, flat stairwells and third-floor walk-ups are the reason most people call. They cost nothing extra.
No Three-Item Cap
The City’s monthly pickup stops at three pieces. We send enough trucks to finish the whole house.
Heavy Pieces Welcome
Sleeper sofas, pianos and cast-iron tubs are far past the 100-pound curbside limit. We have the crew for them.
Insured Crews
Vetted, insured haulers, with a certificate of insurance for towers and loft buildings that require one.
City, County, Illinois
From Old North to Wildwood and Alton to Columbia, everyone pays the same prices.

St. Louis Junk Removal FAQs
How much does junk removal cost in St. Louis?
We price it from your photo. A sofa runs $126, a queen mattress $103, a refrigerator $164 and a mid-size TV $68. Bigger jobs go from $241 for a quarter of the truck up to $732 for the whole thing, and the minimum order is $100.
Will the City pick up my couch for free?
Only if it fits the monthly bulky rule: three items or fewer, none over 100 pounds or six feet long. Most full-size sofas and every sectional miss that limit, and the pickup comes once a month.
I live in the County. Do City rules apply to me?
No. The City’s bulky program covers City addresses only. County towns and unincorporated trash districts run their own service, so ask your city or hauler about theirs.
Can you get everything out of my basement?
Yes. Hauling from cellars and flat stairwells is the bulk of our St. Louis work, and it’s already part of the flat price.
Do you take refrigerators and old tires?
Yes. Missouri bans major appliances from landfills and allows tires only when they’re cut or shredded, so both go to recyclers after pickup.
Do you serve the Illinois side?
Yes — Belleville, O’Fallon, Edwardsville, Collinsville, Granite City, Alton and the rest of the Metro East within about 30 miles, at the same prices.
